Inmotion V12
This is my second 16” wheel, I also own a 16s. I was looking for something that felt safer/stronger than the s and I found it in spades in the V12. I’m not into EUC for the speakers or lights, I tried them and they work! If I had the time or know how to figure out the light system in the app, I’m sure you could make something awesome. This wheel is so much more comfortable than my previous wheel. The padding seems so effortless and sleek, never detracting from the beauty of the wheel. The wheel is quite perfect looking in my opinion, I love the handle, I find it to be very comfortable at appr. 5’10”. I like to think it doesn’t stick out too much but I always get questions or strange looks when I’m riding, more so than on the Kingsong. The true beauty of this wheel though comes from how amazing it feels to ride. Acceleration is unnoticeably smooth, no longer shackled to annoying beeps and constantly shifting pedals at a moderate cruise. The head light is really bright. The tail light- not so much. The tail light is annoyingly dim honestly, it’s one of my biggest gripes with the machine. Thankfully it’s also one of my only gripes with the machine. Turning is smooth, when I received the V12, the pedals were in the highest position. I found it difficult to ride at this position, though weather may have been a factor. I adjusted down to the lowest setting (still higher than the kingsong) and it felt like a completely different ride. This wheel is fast, and it’s fast at getting fast. I haven’t come anywhere near top speed yet as the weather has not been optimal nor will I likely ever. Let me tell you about what absolutely sucks about this wheel. The foot pads. The body is so solid and nice, the foot pads feel like childrens toy part in comparison. Truly a slap in the face to a beautiful wheel. The grip tape is not grippy enough. This wheel has an IPX4 rating but if you have any moisture on your feet or the pads themselves you’re slipping. There’s a disconnect there in sensibility. There’s nothing good about the foot pads. Another poor aspect that seems common in wheels is the placement and position of the air valve. Always hard to get to these things. I haven’t had any cutoff related issues as of this writing and don’t expect to, inmotion tested it and I know SmartWheel did too plus I’ve ridden over 100km so far and no issues. 4/5 out of the box. I feel with after market pedals this would be 5/5 for sure. This wheel is so much more advanced than the kingsong. Almost perfect except for the tail light and the confusing foot pads.
